Gulf Mexico Oil Spills Lawsuit Will Soon Reach Supreme Court

The Gulf of Mexico’s BP oil spill may already been under control after series of efforts including using advanced technology but the fight around it is still very far away from end point. The federal lawsuit against BP and other energy companies has been claimed by more than 120,000 people from various backgrounds ranging from property owners, fishermen, hoteliers to tourists who suffer due the oil spill represented by team of over 70 lawyers. With such scale of the lawsuit, the case is extremely complex.

The plaintiffs have been submitted legal proceedings of this case and soon enough, it would reach the US Supreme Court. On the defendant side, BP will join Transocean, Halliburton and other companies. The fight of this case is really intense in and off court. It is including the divided responses from the claimants regarding $20 billion compensation prepared by BP. It could be understood that there are people who think it’s better to take the money and walk way rather than years of litigation process.

Thanks to huge coverage on this case that draws huge attention from the public. The legal process of this case is speeding through courts faster than any case in history. However, we can be sure that considering the scale of this case, it wouldn’t be ended in short time.
